Policies and Procedures

 

Lodging

  • Rooms: All overnight hunts are based on double occupancy per room. Guests requesting a single occupancy room will be accommodated only if available and for an additional fee of $100 per night.

  • Deposit: 50% nonrefundable deposit due upon booking confirmation of hunt. Remainder is due prior to the hunt.

  • Check In/Check Out: Check in time is 4:00 pm. Check out time is 12:00 pm.

  • Additional Non-hunting Guests: A charge of $300 is made for every non-hunting guest staying at the lodge.



General

  • What To Bring: Camo clothing, hat and rain gear. Waterproof knee boots are sufficient, but you can use waders.

  • Shells: Steel or other non-toxic shot shells. Shot size recommended is BB to #2s for geese and #2s to #4s for ducks.

  • No-Show Policy: No-shows will be charged the full amount. Parties arriving with fewer guests than reserved will be charged the full amount.

  • Licenses: Licenses are not available for purchase at the Lodge. Hunters must purchase hunting license and duck stamp prior to arriving at the Lodge. Information regarding license purchase from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries can be found online (click here) or via toll free number (888-362-5393).

  • Personal Hunting Dogs: Personal hunting dogs are not allowed at the Lodge.

  • Cancellation Policy: Trip cancellations within 30 days of the booked date will require forfeiture of the deposit amount. Deposits for trips cancelled prior to 30 days of the booked date will be rolled over as a credit for a future trip. No refunds will be issued.

  • Alcohol: A variety of complimentary beers and wines are included in our overnight packages. Guests may bring their own liquor. Special requests for liquor will be accommodated if possible and are subject to additional costs. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed in any Henning's Guide Service boats or vehicles. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed before or during any hunt or any activity involving firearms. If a guide makes a determination, solely based on his observations, that he believes one or more hunters are under the influence of alcohol such as to make the hunt unsafe, the guide has the absolute authority to end the hunt and hunters will be charged the full amount of the hunt.

  • Gratuities: Gratuities for guides and staff are optional but appreciated.
